Jurgen Habermas (1929-) is a professor of philosophy and sociology at the University of Frankfurt. He is the founder of the Frankfurt School's theory of knowledge and communicative action theory. Habermas is committed to the elaboration and development of the "communicative action theory". He believes that through the "reconstruction of human communication rationality" and the establishment of an "ideal discourse situation", problems caused by ideology and prejudice can be solved.
